Steelheads hockey offers everything you would expect from a professional hockey franchise. Fast paced action, structured plays, impressive goalkeeping, bone crunching body checks and, of course, hockey fights. Steelheads games are typically held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Idaho Steelheads are an ECHL professional hockey team and an AA affiliate of the NHL Dallas Stars. The Steelheads are the ECHL Kelley Cup Champions in the 2003-2004 and 2006-2007 seasons. The ECHL is a twenty team, nationwide league.

The Steelheads play in downtown Boise in the 5,000 seat Qwest Arena. The Qwest arena is a complete, full service venue and the environment is safe and very family friendly. Tickets range from $9.00 to $32.50. Hot dogs, pizza, subs, ice cream, popcorn, soda, candy and many other goodies are available. Beer, wine and mixed drinks are served.

The Boise Hawks play in the 3,500 seat Memorial Stadium located on the banks of the Boise River. In addition to watching the game, kids can also have fun in the Kid's Park down the right field line where a bounce house, obstacle course, speed pitch and a whiffle ball park provide for a truly fun filled afternoon. The Boise Hawks are a farm team for the Chicago Cubs and compete in the class A Northwest League of Professional Baseball. Notable former players from the league include Reggie Jackson, Ozzie Smith and Tony Gwynn. The Boise Hawks are six time league champions. The franchise was formed in 1987.

The Idaho Stampede are part of the NBA Development League and are affiliated with the Portland Trailblazers and the Denver Nuggets. The Stampede are the Western Division champions for the 2005-2006 season and League champions for the 2007-2008 season. The team was founded in 1997.

The Idaho Stampede is serious basketball. In the 2006-2007 season thirty-five former Development League players were on the NBA opening day roster. The NBA development league consists of sixteen teams and functions as a true minor league farm system for the NBA.

The Idaho Stampede play in downtown Boise Idaho at the 5,000 seat Qwest arena. In addition to traditional stadium seating the venue also provides for substantial courtside seating, surrounding floor table seating as well as play areas and ball and hoop games for the kids.
